So said that InBev owns Bud. Never would have happened if our elected officials were not putting out finacial crisis they created or at best let happen.

Why would you object to one mildly flavoured fizzy alcoholic water behemoth taking over another?

Unlikely, but in any case Budweiser was owned by Anheuser-Busch at the time anyways which was Brazilian. Are Belgians really that much worse than Brazilians?

Wonder why the Carlsberg Group wasn't included. I thought they were the #3 player in size.

The graphic is a bit confusing, as it includes brewing and distribution rights, marketing alliances and partial ownerships without indicating the nature of the relationship.

As an example on the above, Kingfisher is made by United Breweries, which is 37.5% owned by Heineken. Kingfisher is brewed and distributed by Heineken in Europe (or at least the UK), but the beer is still owned by UB in India.

That said, anyway you slice it, there aren't that many players out there, and they are often in bed with each other in different regions.

Now off to get a pint of London Pride, brewed just down the street from me.

Pabst has, by far, the worst collection of beers there.

Except for Pabst Blue Label. I know, inflammatory, but I prefer it to most things on any of those lists.

Yuengling, established in 1829 is still owned and operated by it's founding family.

Sad that InBev owns AB? Not at all. Nothing to do with elected officials what so ever. Everything to do with chronic mis-management by inept and self-involved execs at AB that were asleep at the wheel. AB ran themselves into the ground and allowed InBev to take over. Since InBev took over in ~2008, AB's stock has gone from under ~US$45 to over US$100. Hardly a bad thing.

In China, it's marketed as Blue Ribbon 1844 and costs $44 per bottle.

The phenomenon of aspirational morons as cash cows is truly global.
