Lasagna Fritta. Delicious or Disgusting? Discuss

Lasagna Fritta
Parmesan-breaded lasagna pieces, fried and served over alfredo sauce, topped with parmesan cheese and marinara sauce.

Certainly health food if nothing else.

From the description, I'm not sure it's even food. My vote: :td:

what else to do with left over lasagna? only a hint of sauce, but lots more cheese. can be other types of cheese. verticle cut the lasagna slices to get more cheese in the layers. also works great with eggplant lasagna.

in normal lasagna, we use ground mixed meats(beef, lamb, pork, etc). are you suggesting we would prefer ground cat?

by the bye, one of the local chinese restaurants was closed after the third time cats were found stored in the freezer.

You do realize it is just lasagna noodles, NOT prepared lasagna right?

just making sure....

certainly did not. lasagna noodles are just flat dried pasta, maybe with some ripples on the edges. they are usually semolina plus a bit of water and salt. would have to be soaked or boiled to get them to serviceable.

I think that if cordelli sees this thread he will very likely just quit FT... :D

And no, EastBay, that does not sound good, except for as 3am drunk food, or perhaps as a high-energy ski snack. But why would you do this to yourself?

Giggleswick Dec 24, 2012 12:38 pm

1) I believe the noodles would be boiled first, then breaded and fried.

2) Despite what has happened to poor old fettucine alfredo outside of Italy in recent times, there is properly no such thing as "alfredo sauce." Genuine fettucine alfredo has butter and cheese, but no cream or, worse yet, cream substitutes such as the "milkfat solids" that show up in jarred versions.

3) To answer the OP: I vote for "disgusting." Is this from the Olive Garden or something? Sure sounds like it.

Thou shan't speak so lightly of Satan's Cafeteria.

Everything is better fried. Now just slap that baby on a stick, put the alfredo sauce in a cup for dippin', and you've got yourself a State Fair contest entry. :D

yes this 420 snack "food" is an oyuck gartin creation.

It is right up there with the fried snickers and oreos in the culinary skill.

Bingo! I saw some Olive Garden commercial and I decided to go online and peruse their wine list out of morbid curiosity. Then I perused their disgusting menu and saw that the dinner entrees were priced way out of line with what I expected. (My last trip to one of these fine dining establishments was when Mr. Clinton was still a White House resident.)

I made a potato lasagna with spanikopita style filling for Turkey day. Some people would call it a potato cheese haute dish. Grandma would call it a potato, spinach, kale and cheese casserole.
