I finally used my new grill pan I bought during Prime Day and I cooked my first ribeye steak, which was a little gristly. An imperfect Imperfect Foods steak or just bad luck of the meat draw? I roasted purple potatoes and fennel with smashed garlic cloves. Oh, actually I used the Super Convection Air Fryer setting on the new to me Breville.

PS - I only ate half of the steak.

That steak doesnt look bad. I do find that I enjoy a cheap chuck roast that has been sous vide, as much as the $25-40 steaks I get in restaurants. Not any gristle, either.

LOL...I would hope not! Jokes aside, I really do like mustard and probably would have used most of it.

PS - that steaks look pretty good to me and perfectly cooked too!

Mr. CE was off today and kind enough to pick up tacos for lunch -- grilled tilapia and checked tacos for me, both traditionally garnished (onion and cilantro).

Had a delightful belated birthday for a friend as restricted dining in resumed , yet again .

A seasonal truffle special is on at Dempsey Cookhouse ( Jean-Georges Vongerichten ) . We almost got carried away but managed some control and had 2 of them : Steamed King Crab, Black Truffle Herb Butter & burrata with Black Truffles and Toast .
Was extremely engrossed in conversation and seeing our meal that photos were forgotten till desserts !

Along with the truffles we had a third starter kale & broccoli with parmesan , croutons & modified the soft boiled egg with hard boiled egg .

Besides the pizza below our main was Veal Milanese with arugula and heirloom tomatoes .

Salted caramel sundae with hot fudge , peanuts and popcorn . Also blueberry lemon Basque tart with blueberries and creme fraiche

Fontina truffle pizza , as you can see - brought home most of it .

Funny, when I read this comment last night, I wished Imperfect Foods offered some non-steak beef… and chuck roast is available this week. My new dutch oven is giddy with anticipation.

Breakfast was the leftover purple potatoes and fennel drizzled with pan drippings (avocado oil, steak juice, and butter). Needless to say, it was delicious.

Those potatoes sound delicious.
I thought Imperfect Foods was supposed to be better pricing. $9 a lb for chuck doesn't sound like a bargain to me.

IF has both imperfect and 'perfect' foods. I checked the nearest grocery stores' websites, Nob Hill (Raleys) non-grass fed chuck roast is $6.99/lb, and Safeway has $3.99/lb regular and $7.99/lb grass fed. I'm okay paying $8.99/lb to infrequently get these through my weekly grocery source.

The potatoes reheated nicely. I left them in the toaster oven all night, so they didn't get refrigerator-hard.

Does Imperfect food have any signup bonuses or referrals?
