Went to brunch with some of my family at their country club today. I'd just been thinking I hadn't had a Monte Cristo sandwich in too long and lo and behold there was one on the menu:

Dinner

Bacon-wrapped BBQ shrimp, Chicken and Crab Gumbo, and Cheesy Grits. Nice, simple and freaking delicious meal...never underestimate the classics, LOL.

I took a road trip today down to South Carolina, here are the eats I found along the way:

One shrimp and one chicken taco at Paco's Tacos in Charlotte. Both very good.

This was supposedly shrimp and grits at Redbone Alley in Florence, SC. There was a dearth of restaurants open on Sunday in Florence and this was the "best" of my options on TA.

Good old fashioned boxed fried shrimp and instant mashed potatoes. For someone who cooks 95% of their own using almost all whole foods, the processed stuff was a pure delicacy.

Hmmm....I like that you said supposedly. Certainly looks like an interesting interpretation, LOL.

Pork fillet Sunday lunch by my own fair hands. The crispy pancetta is something I will be doing again!

Melia White House - London - Mexican Pizza

Ordered the "Mexican" of tomato, mozzy, Cheekin and of course Jalapenos but the chef had run out of Jalapenos and so tried to flog me off with pickled gherkins..... because they were green, round and the same size. Thankfully, the -Italian- Duty Manager took a very dim view of the chef defacing his pizzas and swapped for something else entirely!^
