Actually, they're quite lovely. I love good bagels.

I had two slices of La Brea multi-grain toast with strawberry butter (something from a little company in WI that I found at Costco) this morning.

I didn't want to eat too much because I'm meeting former colleagues for lunch at Lou Malnati's for some Chicago deep dish pizza and I need the room!

Strawberry butter
Yeah, it's not like apple butter, but the consistency of regular butter with real strawberry flavor. They had several other flavors. I bought two, strawberry and garlic herb. The latter I've been using to fry omelets. Tasty.

Meal: Dinner

Insalata Caprese of arugula, buffalo mozzarella and heirloom tomato with balsamic drizzle.
Tuna Tartar: with arugula spring (decoration) and an avocado puree. The tartar was a bit too largely cut for my taste but it was damn tasty. The bread offered was your standard Italian table bread but I requested sourdough to use as the "airplane" with sound effects for all.

Ah ..... that well known Bavarian delicacy .....Wienerschnitzle with Rice and Apple Sauce ......

Must have been with a beer?

Meal: Lunch

Coincidentally, I made schnitzel for lunch but hating waste I decided to double-breadcrumb it and ended up with a heave stodgey bit of rather thin meat. In future I'll just throw the excess crumb away rather than be tempted to use it. With bratkartoffeln and petit pois ... and Paulaner Hell.

Don't ever post your address or you will have both the hungry and the alcoholic Flyertalkers knocking on your door with regularity.
