I think it does. There are acid and sugars in the buttermilk that actually invade the chicken meat which is going to give it a nice tangy flavor.
After about 12-24 hours, the buttermilk itself has formed a kind of thick batter, which you can't get with regular milk. |

Price's Chicken Coop is an institution in Charlotte. It is very retro, back to the 50's or before. Everything is take out as there is no place to sit. The Roadfood review is here:
