Q Tonic water

I've recently discovered Q Tonic. In the current nauseating trend of making everything "artisan", it is an artisan tonic water. But it's great. The Canada Dry/Schweppes tonic is overly sweet and cloying. Q has just the right amount of sweetness. A Q and gin is quite refreshing. If you happen to find some - get it!

I've seen it at Whole Foods and various fancier grocery stores.

Yes, we love Q! Perfect accompaniment to Hendricks Gin, no corn syrup sugar water as with many store bought tonics. Another worthy competitor is Stirrings Tonic, sweetened with cane sugar, but Q is our first choice when we can find it.

I don't believe I've ever seen Q Tonic in Europe.

One thing I didn't realise is that Schweppes Indian Tonic isn't commonly available in the USA. I didn't know Americans were drinking a different version to the one we have.

There's a very interesting comparison of many different tonic waters here

I do agree with their rating of Fentimans but then, I do have a strong fondness for Fevertree, but that's because I see it as a sweetened soda treat more than as a mixer (haven't been able to drink much alcohol for a few years and need to wait a bit longer until I can start again)

I really should try the Indian Tonic if I can find it. Didn't realize it was different from the Schweppes tonic water sold here.

I think I saw a bottle for sale at a whisky shop in Scotland.

I tried and found it great. It was natural and much less sweet than some other brands. I like it as it has very low calories and and glycemic index. Its so good and better than other items you get in grocery store.

I read about this is Saveur, along with a lot of other people. Sounds interesting.

Q is quite good. I also like Fever Tree, which is a bit sweeter though still no HFCS.
