when wineries show wine for sale, they have current or very recent vintage. these wines tend to be very "tight" . frequently they will be ariated by pounng them back and forth between two decanters. maybe 10-20 times.

in montalchino, they have a very long necked decanter. the wine is poured in and swirls down the neck and the decanter. this is usually done two or three times for a 5-10 year old brunello.

Some of you guys have seen me covering up a glass with my palm
and shaking it vigorously for a few seconds. This was taught me in
my turn by a person of the adopted froggish persuasion who had
had the trick demonstrated to him by the gray eminence at Ch.
Tiregand, whose wines when young really need this kind of abuse.

Not so sure about half a minute in a blender, though.

I'll take my wine snob hat off for a minute- I just hope that blender is totally clean and free of anything that might contaminate the wine's taste.
