gourmet dried/candied fruit?
It will be coming up to our 4th wedding anniversary in a couple of months. My wife and I decided that each year we would celebrate using 'traditional' gifts (e.g. paper year 1 etc). I wanted to get my wife some fruit (instead of flowers) this year.
I remember a thread here from a couple of years back, which I now can't find, recommending some amazing mail order company which delivered delicious fruit -- can't remember if it was candied or dried. Would love if someone could remember what company that was, or other suggestions! Price is not a major issue, but we ain't that well off (i.e. around $100 ideally). thanks, tb |

Don't know which tread you are looking for, but Hadley's (handleyfruitorchards.com) is famous in California. Their fruit is fabulous.

I don't have extensive experience with them, but I've liked what I've sampled from Bella Viva Orchards at the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market in SF. http://bellaviva.com/

I order from here often. everything is very good.
www.sunnylandfarms.com Himself likes the dried peaches and I think the dried pears are awsome. |
I recall a thread where Delta SkyClub patrons were raving about the new provider of dried fruit. That's all I've got. ;)

Are you getting the fruit in the US or UK? Makes a big difference. In the US Harry and David is the best source for most fruits, period, particularly some fresh fruit like pears. http://www.harryanddavid.com/gifts/store/home___
In the UK, the best I've found is Cranberry (stores in London, mostly at railway stations like Waterloo and Paddington). |
