You should look for some mentioned here then, they don't have HFCS, and not overly sweet, many of them (fage notably) even plain until you mix the fruit.

Oh goodness. Go to your nearest Trader Joes or Whole Foods and pick up some Fage. You will fall in love, and never touch those cheap imitations again :)
I like mine with about a tablespoon of honey. |

I love Fage Greek yogurt and have even used it as a starter for home-made yogurt. I'm not sure it's as good as it once was when what I bought in the US was made in Greece, but it's still good stuff.
I used the zero fat yogurt to make onion dip (typical recipe is dried onion soup mix combined with sour cream) and it actually was good stuff. |

I am single so the fruit not mixed kind is perfect for me, I can make some dressing for a salad at the start of a meal, then mix the fruit and have it for dessert at the end! I am willing to try anything once and did try it in a creamy pasta dish, it wasn't the greatest there :D I would not have known for sure without trying though. |
When I think of it (especially now that it is peach season here) I'll take a little container of whatever natural yogurt I can find, heat up a quart of whole milk a little bit, mix it into the yogurt, and leave it out wrapped in a towel for a while.
When you get close to running out, just use some of the old to make more. For some reason I find it to taste better than anything I can just purchase. I recommend giving it a try. |
I am glad I only have 3 Liberte now after looking at the nutrition label on the original (my store doesn't have the new 0%)
14g of fat in a serving! it is great stuff, but wow it is like eating butter cream there with the fat content, and I guess in essense, it is. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4118/...58a89116d1.jpg until they have the lower/no fat kind, I think I will be sticking to other brands ;) |
There must be some yoghurt price war going on up here. Two grocery shops that I've been to have been selling the 750 ml 2.5% MF yoghurts for $2.99. Still prefer the 6-8% MF one but that's not on sale. Never buy the 0% as it doesn't taste right.
