My okra is finally coming in. i have 15 plants that are only about 4' tall. it is at least a month late, and the plants a foot or two short. we had a very bad june & july in dc, which i presume screwed it up.

it is very easy to grow. biggest problem is it is well liked by deer and ground hogs.

Stewed okra I can take or leave, but there's a delectable Indo-Chinese appetizer/bar snack of spicy deep-fried okra medallions. Super yummy!

That said, I'll eat anything fried, sometimes even okra...

I LOVE the slimey and gooey texture. I also love oysters. :D

Okra is hearty food. I love me some okra.

my first flight to europe in the mid 1970's was on Sabena. Okra was the veg served awith the entree.... Also my first experience with Okra. I had to ask what it was. I am solidly in the hate in camp. Although I can stand it in a spicy gumbo -- I would never eat it alone.

Bhindi bhaji (http://www.indianfoodforever.com/veg...ndi-bhaji.html) is great with a curry.

Never cooked it myself, but the Indian restaurants I frequent do it very well!

I think I've had okra as tempura among other things. I quite like them.
