McD's just added Wasabi sauce for their McNuggets in Taiwan. Pretty good.

McKroket in Holland. Its sort of like bitterballen on a bun, I'm told. Dutch friends were crestfallen when I told them it's not available at McDonalds in the US.

I had some sort of Cajun chicken sandwich at a Mickey-D's outside of Toronto a few years back. Surpisingly good, but I haven't seen it there or anywhere else since.

And of course, once you get east of Toronto, you start seeing poutine on the menu. Haven't seen a McLobster (McHomard) for a while, however.

Vegetarian meals

I hate the fact that you don't get the vegetarian meals eveywhere. I don't care if they are just as unhealthy as the rest of it

Catsup. Yes Catsup. You have to pay for it at the McD's in the Frankfurt Germany airport.

I was outraged!

This thread amazes me. I have used the free internet access at McDonald's in France but I have not been brave enough to order any food because the greasy smells were quite enough. I last ate in a McDonalds in San Francisco in 1981 when I was flat broke and it was the cheapest place in the area. I've had no desire to be in one since.

I've noticed beer being served there, and ordered one because the internet should cost something, but I could not even smell the beer because the greasy odors overwhelmed me. I tasted it and thew it out. It tasted like dirty water.

Had a McTurko in Istanbul (and a red currant Flurry).
And in Bulgaria they had french fries that were flatter, wider, and sort-of scoop shaped. Don't have a clue as to what they were called.

I usually try to avoid Macca's when I'm overseas but I had to try the Greek Mac (IIRC) at a location in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Pita, patty that was cut in two so it'd fit better, feta, dressing, lettuce....

Pretty good really.

Oh, and I did have a beer at a Macca's in Bucharest, Romania.

WOW!

What a great thread! I remember having a rice bowl at KFC in Hong Kong back in the early 90's it was great.

MC D's had rice in Japan too

I never thought to go in the other countries I visited! I will from now on

It was not until my trip to Beijing that made me try fast food menus when going on a holiday (why eat fast food when you should be trying out the local cuisine?), but my cousin's hubby says it's worth trying out stuff that you don't get back home.

I personally liked the Mc D's pork burger served in HK. Another notable one would be the yam pie in China.
