Delta Air Lines Joins Air Jamaica on 2nd Flight from New York City Area to Montego Bay
Customers will be able to Fly from Newark and Kennedy Airports to the Caribbean
ATLANTA, April 17, 2002 -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE AL) customers will have a second convenient flight connection from the New York City area to Montego Bay, Jamaica, beginning May 1 when Delta begins new codeshare service with partner Air Jamaica. Air Jamaica will operate the daily service from Newark International Airport using Airbus 320 aircraft.
"Delta continues to strengthen its Caribbean service by offering convenient travel options for customers between Delta’s extensive North American network and Air Jamaica’s destinations throughout the Caribbean," said Arnaldo Ruiz, general manager - Alliances - the Americas.
Delta, with partner Air Jamaica, offers customers 55 daily flights between five U.S. gateways (Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York’s JFK International Airport) and 11 Caribbean destinations, including Aruba, Barbados, Bermuda, Grand Cayman, Grenada, Kingston, Montego Bay, Nassau, San Juan, St. Lucia, and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
"Through our strong partnership with Air Jamaica, Delta has been able to offer a steady increase in the number of flights to and from the Caribbean, fulfilling our commitment to the region and to our customers," said Ruiz.
Air Jamaica, founded in 1969, provides daily service connecting islands throughout the Caribbean from 12 North American destinations, as well as London. The carrier offers more than 350 weekly flights with its fleet of 16 modern aircraft.
