FAQ: Delta Aircraft

Hi Everyone,

There seem to be loads of threads growing on different aircraft, so I thought putting together one thread providing links to these threads might be useful. I've started with mostly international a/c and will update with domestic information as my time permits.

Please let me know if you have suggestions!

Thanks!
robin

Domestic Aircraft

767-300 - 76P:
DL previously used 76Q and 76P to identify these a/c; it appears they now only use 76P
Seats:
F seats are generally considered a tight fit; as such, many prefer the center section.

IFE/Power:
Rows 1-5 (F cabin) have 110v US/Euro plug power

I know when I start answering numerous questions on a particular topic, it's time to present a possible solution.

Great idea, thanks! Hope it becomes a stickie. Wonder if it might be worth posting some info of which a/c fly where for the more popular routes, though it sounds like a lot of work.

Thank you for taking on this project, rwoman.

When I looked at the thread count of the Delta SkyMiles forum, there were greater than 96,000 discussions. You might notice that that count has been reduced. This is due to the recent merging of threads, such as this newly-consolidated discussion:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...ve-thread.html

I personally would like to see information in the Delta SkyMiles forum be as easily accessible as possible to FlyerTalk members, and I could use all the assistance I can get.

Suggestions are welcome...

We are trying to not overwhelm the Delta SkyMiles forum with “sticky” threads, but discussions such as this one can certainly be added to the main “sticky” thread, which admittedly needs an overhaul:

Much of the information in the threads are outdated. Becasue DL aircraft is reconfigured and changed, sometimes on an annual Basis, many of the 2 year old posts do not contain the current information. I think we need to start new threads on every subject.

The initial post may not provide information, but later posts may do so. As FT'ers have feedback, I'll update accordingly.

I know this is OT, but a separate FAQs on upgrades would be helpful as well.

Information including:
  • Order of priority for domestic "free" upgrades
  • Order of priority and fare basis for using SWUs domestic/intl
  • How to redeem skypesos for upgrades (fare class pd, fare class open for upgrade, etc..) -->This one especially key for those of us coming from UA as the system is completely different over there
  • Using skypesos to upgrade an award ticket
I'm sure there's some other obvious u/g questions I missed but just a start to the list.

Great job rwoman on this list so far, very helpful to have a consolidated FAQ Page!!!

Robin, thanks for another really useful thread.

I have a bit of information to add to the information on international aircraft: The 757-200ER (with BusinessElite) also seems to be used on the JFK-GEO route, admittedly a somewhat obscure one.

I also have a question related to this: Do you know what the J seats are like on that aircraft? Are they more like domestic BE seats than international? (I realize they are not flat-beds or lie-flats) Do you get a duvet and larger pillow?

Medallions are eligible for complimentary upgrades on the JFK-GEO route, which makes me pessimistic about the quality of the BE cabin!
