Atl-jfk 777-200

I just booked some flights and one of my segments is ATL-JFK on a 777 on October 26th. Just curious, does anyone know where this flight is continuing on to or continuing from? Its DL 8814

VERY odd flight number there.

My guess is taking an aircraft to the UK for the SYD spraying?

EDIT: Nope, it's a 777-232ER, config of 50/218.

It likely will continue on to NRT or MAD, those are the two 777 destinations from JFK, though I'm not sure if the MAD turn was summer only. Small chance it could do a TLV run, but those are few and far between. What time is your flight? If it arrives late morning, it will likely turn to NRT for the 1 PM flight.

DL seems to do a bunch of ship repositions between ATL and JFK. I've also had a ride on the 777 and several 763ER's with 97XX flight numbers, all have been ship repositions to get them into place for their next flights.

Yup, definitely turning to NRT. I took a 77E reposition flight in July, left ATL at 8:30 and arrived JFK at 11 AM. The gatehouse/podium at the arrival gate was marked as DL801 to NRT, so I am fairly certain. Probably swapping ships or something, I've seen several 777's go back and forth between ATL and JFK at various times.

I noticed the other day that starting around that time, there will be a 777-200 running JFK-ATL every Sunday afternoon, flight number DL50, i think. This being right before the 767-300ER that runs JFK-ATL in the early evening.

I didn't search too much, but it looked like it is just on Sundays, and only in the JFK-ATL direction. I couldn't find where there might be a once weekly 777 doing ATL-JFK.
