More MQM via credit card from Delta (Amex)?
 

I'm about 10K away from the first Medallion® Qualification level. I know that's not much, but I'm wondering if I can top myself off with a credit card.

I looked at the Delta SkyMiles Amex information, and I see the miles (up to 30K) but nothing about MQM. Do some count that way, or are all of those offers dead?

I can pretty eat up the minimum spends with the dollar coins . . .

Try the Delta Reserve Amex.It gets you 10,000 after your first purchase. However, be warned, if you have EVER had any other Delta cards the mileage reward will be reduced by what they 'think' you got. (I never got the first reward because I cancelled, but Amex seems to "think" they gave it!)

Delta Gold Amex: 0 MQM
Delta Platinum Amex: 5,000 MQM after first purchase, 10,000 MQM after $25,000, another 10,000 MQM after $50,000
Delta Reserve Amex: 10,000 MQM after first purchase, 15,000 MQM after $30,000, another 15,000 MQM after $60,000

Note, spending it based on all money spent (not just on Delta stuff) on card over calendar year (irrelevant of when card was opened). Also, some fees (like the annual fee) don't count towards the spending thresholds.

Actually Amex adds a variety of MQM sign-up promos on the Plat card and very occassionally the Gold cards. I got a Plat card where the promo added 10K mqm after the first $1K spend.


Do a search in this forum on Amex - there are a couple of threads that will give you search hints on finding the current offers.

Agreed. I signed up for the Reserve card last week in response to an offer for 10K MQM upon sign-up and 10K MQM after the first $1000 in spend. So you could have 20K MQM in no time. There were more MQMs with more spending, but I can't recall the remaining details. You will be able to find this offer via a link in one of the previous threads.

Couldn't find this offer --was this targeted or can it still be found?
