Companion certificate reservation limitations
 
My fiancee and I would like to use our companion certificate from our Delta Platinum Skymiles AMEX so I can accompany him on a business trip. However, I need to return home a couple of days early.

Has anyone been able to book a ticket with the certificate and then change the return date on just one ticket?

You can do it, but you'll pay through the nose for it because you'll pay the change fee plus the difference in fare. In my case, it was cheaper to just buy a whole new ticket.
