Flight Time Changes
 
Jsut checked an award flight I booked a couple months ago. One of my flights is now departing a little over an hour earlier and arriving 1 hour later due to a schedule change. Will Delta allow me to change my flight for free.

When you call DL I would play up the 1-hour-earlier departure and NOT the fact that the schedule has you landing at your destination an hour later. Tell them any excuse you can think of for why the earlier departure will JUST NOT WORK for you. Cite time to get to the airport, cut-off time for checking bags, getting through security,... all these will not work for you.

They might let you change for free.

You should be due a full refund for any change that you say will not work for whatever reason (in your case miles). Obviously this will only work if the flights you do want are available to book now.
