Please I need some help using a dtv!

I would like to use a denied boarding voucher for a purchase of a M Fare [atl to san] class of service to get the triple MQM for the promo that is going on until June 15,2009. I call PM customer service they say that this promo does not apply because of using a voucher instead of cash. They tell me using a voucher is a reissue so no triple miles for me. I asked her where this is stated in the promo when she replies in the last paragraph "other restrictions apply"
That was not obvious to me. Has anyone dealt with this issue? Any responce would be great.

Here is the last paragraph where it is set in stone!
Additional Restrictions: Medallion Qualification Miles will post to the SkyMiles account of the qualifying member 6-8 weeks following the end of the promotion (June 15, 2009). Taxes and fees for Award Travel are the responsibility of the passenger and must be paid at the time the ticket is booked. Award Travel seats are limited and may not be available on all flights or in all markets. Complimentary upgrades are subject to availability, may not be available on all flights or in all markets. All SkyMiles program rules apply. To review the rules, visit delta.com/memberguide. Offers void where prohibited by law. Other restrictions may apply. Offers subject to change without notice. Please refer Delta customer service representative to 970625. :td:

Sorry, bud:

How to Earn

Enroll in promotion at www.delta.com/elite

* Purchase during promo on qualifying flights
o Qualifying flights include any Delta, Northwest, Mesaba, Pinnacle, Compass, or Delta Connection carrier flight.
* Codeshare flights operated by carriers other than NW or DL or Delta Connection carriers are excluded from this offer.
* Tickets originally purchased prior to March 23 are not eligible (even if they are reissued after March 23)

Call back and get verification. This doesn't make sense to me. Even if it was left from another ticket you probably paid a penalty already. I am on a trip now that used a voucher and was told it would qualify.

It actually says:
Validity:
Members must book and purchase tickets between March 23, 2009 and June 15, 2009 to be eligible for the offer. Bonus applies only to miles counting towards Medallion status.

There are some of us that have e-credits and have been using them for tickets.. i'll be mad as hell if I used vouchers and they weren't applicable... especially since new ticket numbers are issued each time I book a brand new itinerary

Direct from the Delta Intranet Knowledgebase.

(notice that it's marked "Public" so people don't give me crap =/ )

I just called back and spoke to someone different in customer care who spoke to the promotions person and they both agree that using the vouchers will count toward this promotion. Such different views!

My interpretation is that if you cancel and rebook the same itinerary for the same day as one you had before March 23, the new ticket would not qualify. A ticket for any other itinerary that you had not booked before March 23 should be OK if you are using a voucher of some sort. Obviously the OP's new ticket cannot be the same itinerary as the one for which the OP got the denied boarding voucher.

Wow.... that's very disappointing that there would be more information on the promo (and a slightly different interpretation) internally versus what the consumer can see.

I had a ticket that I booked and had to make a change to in order to extend my connection time EZE-ATL-MCO because I had some issues with customs... that SHOULD be eligible but who knows now.

Honestly, if you ask me, it's a bit of a gray area.

Personally, I think that if you had a reservation that was made in the promotional period and you helped Delta with an oversale you should 100% be able to use a voucher towards a reservation that will give you the Triple MQM's.

With that said, I'm not sure that the system will see the new reservation made with the VDB voucher as a new transaction with the VDB voucher as FOP, or if it keeps the same ticket number/electronic ticket as the original reservation.

Don't know about Delta. But recent experience with a NW itinerary purchased after program start and with the use of a NW VDB voucher qualified. I know cuz NW is posting the Extra EQMs right away and not waiting for x number of weeks.
Voucher is good for purchases up to one year from date of issue. Voucher is used as a credit toward the purchase of a new ticket. (My opinion.)

FWIW, I am in the middle of a trip I had originally booked to CUN last June. As fares dropped and the triple MQM promotion was announced I cancelled my original K fare of $616.00 and rebooked and PAID for a new $468 flight with a K fare. The agent was able to transfer my PMU to my now new trip. Of course with the flu in Mexico we ended up in Jamaica, I was able to use 2 $400 vouchers to pay up to a F and I class itin.

The original agent was very specific about my not being able to use my leftover credit in booking the CUN trip for which I would have received 2x mqm's. As i was in the process of booking a LAS trip for next week at that time she said I could book it using the remaining credit from the CUN trip and still get my 2x mqm's on that trip.
