NW/DL begin new route MEM-DAL (Love Field)

Hi all,

DL/NW will begin new nonstop for MEM-DAL but, there is no specific date to be set. So here the origin flight schedules will have thrice daily roundtrip MEM-DAL (Love Field). So here it is:

NW 2673 MEM 0915-1100 DAL CRJ Daily
NW 2675 MEM 1400-1545 DAL CRJ Daily
NW 2677 MEM 1951-2136 DAL CRJ Daily

NW 2672 DAL 0600-0740 MEM CRJ Daily
NW 2674 DAL 1125-1305 MEM CRJ Daily
NW 2676 DAL 1615-1755 MEM CRJ Daily

Its should wait for offical press releases by DL/NW will inauguration for MEM-DAL but, you remember from those days after DL has been discontinuation service for ATL-DAL due to poor performance. So hope it will getting better for MEM-DAL instead of ATL.

They are restricted to 56 seats on this route because of the Wright Amendment. Hence the CRJs - anything bigger would be illegal.

What are you saying soemthing about CRJ are still on restricted by 50 or 70 seater is not an illegal. I think it would enough bigger aircraft on E170 aircraft for MEM-DAL.This is an similar any of the circumstance in DAL (Love Field). Hopefully in few years until the restrictions will be lifted in between 2015 or 2016.

Any plane with more than 56 seats cannot legally operate a scheduled, commercial nonstop flight from DAL to any state other than Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Mississippi, Alabama, Kansas and Missouri (connections in these 9 states, as well as thru-ticketing, is legal now). This restriction remains in place until 2014.

Given that DL does not have hubs/focus cities in any of these 9 states, anything more than a CRJ is very unlikely until 2014. Once that is opened up, we'd be able to see CRJ-900s/EMB-175s/etc. from DL serve the airport if the market dictates it (and these aircraft can fly in from any DL domestic hub).

From the local ABC affiliate in Dallas/Fort Worth

Delta Air Lines to fly out of Love Field Airport

Delta Air Lines will soon start flying out of Dallas Love Field Airport. An announcement is expected Friday.

The airline will start flights to Memphis on July 6, but sources told News 8 Delta is also planning on expanding to other hubs in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit and New York.
No MSP, though.

There is a market for this , especially those near downtown and "east" of DAL, and the growing east suburbs. There are quite a few who literally hate to drive to DFW and refuse to do so, instead flying on WN out of DAL, and this may fill a need, RJ or not as AA out of DFW has gone to more and more RJ's on shorter routes, so what is the difference? Not a bad idea and this allows DL to do more connections at MEM and more as they expand DAL service, plus get a foot in the door for when the new terminal is finished.

We'll see if it's sustainable - given that the only choice for DL for now is the horrid CRJ. No F, those ridiculous kindergarten-level windows, no real extra room in the exit row.

Meh- more than likey this is vintage Delta whining strategy. It is a message directed at Southwest, "we don't like your entry into formerly NW captive markets, so take this".

Classic Delta strategy, throw some CRJs that they have sitting around at a LCC competitor to bleed yields and send a message-pathetic, when you consider the scale of Delta losses.
