Couldn't help but be impressed......
Flying on a Delta Award ticket NWA upgraded me to First, and I noticed today I received Medallion miles and bonus.

Lucky! But shouldn't have happened.
We all know people get miles they shouldn't. When we do an SDC and get Y bonus miles, IRROPS give us Y. And there are many people who have reported upgrades on award tickets for operational reasons or for no reason. It is not like this is anything new.

Ah, yes, let's brag about this, so they can retroactively go through accounts and claw miles back. Sheeesh, people.

Hehehe... I can't remember ever personally getting miles for an award ticket, but another NW pax I know once flew CO on an award ticket (perksaver coach, I think it was) internationally, which for some reason posted as Y/Y, so they got over 8,000 banked miles, and an equivalent amount of EQM, plus the 50% Y-class EQM bonus.

NW policy allows for upgrades on Domestic Award Tickets if available. That's SOP.
As far as the bonus miles, happens every now and then. To receive miles for an award, yes very lucky.

Yes, it's SOP, but I didnt realize that NW was upgrading pax on DL-issued award tix. If so, why isnt everyone booking their domestic award reservations on NW!!! I will certainly start! Since DL wont implement this benefit til later in the year, this is a good piece of information if true!
