Hmm ... First I've seen of that. The companion cert changes are very welcome. That 20 phone fee was especially bogus since the darn things could only be redeemed over the phone. Will be interested to see how the online redemption works.

Partner fee waiver is nice, although that fee, too, was always a crock.

PMUs on NW is a plus. Now, can we get them applicable to more fare classes?

Thanks for the link. The extension of the PMUs to NW is the big one for me.

I think the title of this thread made me think there was less to this link than there is - I thought it was just something about fee waivers for card holders. Hopefully others check this out, as there is some good info here.

I tried to edit the title afterwards to no avail so Moderators if you see fit to change it, please do so!

There are some other interesting revelations on the website.

Good changes, too bad my companion cert was issued before the date.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't PWM only for those with an DL AmEx?

The one thing I dont like is how DL adds fees and then waives the fee. That's like a politician that raises your taxes for a few years and then reduces those taxes in an election year and says he is a tax-cutter.

Delta Airlines added/increased the fees to which all DL customers may be subjected and then later Amex got these fees cut for a subset of Amex customers using the relevant DL-affiliated credit cards. This is substantially different than the example of a politician you mention since this situation deals with two parties as opposed to just a single individual -- that said, the feeling customers are left with can be the same.

PWM? If you mean the waiver it is only for Plat DL AMEX and DL Reserve cardmembers

The reference is to DL's "Pay with Miles" program and not to the waiver(s) of award fees.

But there is no redemption fee for anyone 21 days prior to departure:
http://www.delta.com/skymiles/use_mi...d_travel_fees/

They don't say they waive the Direct Ticketing Charge (phone fee).

Is DL going to introduce a new fee for non-Plat/Reserve credit card customers?

I'm puzzled by this too. The other changes are welcomed.

I asked an agent about this today. Apparently the partner booking fees are going to be waived for all PMs AND All Delta Plat and Reserve Amex cardholders.

The Direct ticketing charge is just waived for the companion certificate before it goes electronic.

The actual quote from the website reads:
If you redeem an Award Ticket less than 21 days prior to departure your award ticket redemption fees are waived.
Its less than 21 days, so you would normally be hit with the $75 fee, but they are now going to waive it.
