I don't know the OP, but my guess is that it was an effort to show that DL needs to step up the CRCs if they want to becoming best in class in lounges as another a/l has raised the bar.

Quite right, ADLFO.

Heck just wiping the thick layer of dust off of the light fixtures in the ceiling of the BE lounge in the E Concourse at ATL would be a vast improvement in that one. Or replacing the cracked and stained fixtures in the men's room at BNA.

Compare the NW lounges in the C Concourse at DTW to anything that DL has in any city currently.

And to think we PMs used to get free access to these places!

If DL wants to raise the bar, why not do it onboard? DL is an airline and we spend more time on the airplanes than in clubs.

Depends on where you fly out of. Lately, I seem to be spending more time in the CRCs at LGA and JFK than on the plane.

Why do you have to be so negative, especially about anything relating to NW?

I am not. I asked a question. In fact, I think the only WorldClub that I have been in DTW is probably the best club that I have ever been in. The SEA CRC, before it closed, was also very nice. So, comparing it to the DL clubs is about as fair as comparing it to the rest of the NW clubs.

For the record, I have been flying NW planes quite a bit in the last few months. And, sans a Mesaba incident that kind of pissed me off, I have been relatively pleased with them.

At least upgrade the ones in the B terminal, they look like refugee camps with booze

Reminiscence... DL used to have a small unstaffed room at BWI... early 80's. You had to get an agent to let you in... and you might be the only person there. Wrong side of security, as I recall, but security wasn't as much of a hassle then.

I remember that DL was running some sort of incentive... so many flights in a certain period to win two RT tickets to HI. I was two flights short, and there were still real DL flights from PHL to BWI. So I hopped down, enjoyed the lounge for a bit, and flew home.

The good ol' days...

Yeah, I would almost rather wait at the gate than go to a B CRC in the ATL. Almost.
