Got this in mail for family members, so check yours. You'll need a registration code (and cannot be reused).
Receive SkyMiles Silver Medallion® status when you purchase four domestic or two international tickets, complete your journey, and register by December 31, 2008. Simply use your American Express® Card to book your trips.
Silver Medallion status includes:
Unlimited complimentary upgrades
Priority check-in and boarding
Priority waitlist
Mileage bonus
Status through February 2010
The question is, is FO worth the energy/money for someone who doesn't travel much?

I know this gets harped on, but it's so true...but if everyone is "special" then no one is "special".
I flew nearly 40 segments before I got Silver this year. Then I was Silver and Gold and didn't get my first upgrade till I was Platinum. On EWR-ATL legs literally half the plane boards with group 2. *sigh*

Key:
You must use your Platinum Card or Business Platinum Card from American Express to purchase your ticket.
not too many people have a plat amex and no status?

Two international tickets may earn you Silver Medallion anyway without the need to be targeted or owning a special AMEX card! (and without the need to fly Delta exclusively either
)

Oh God...more way to easy to qualify Silvers out there. Thank God I'm Gold (and later Platinum) - if I was still Silver, I'd be a little ticked off. Still, it's more people competing with me for exit rows and good coach seats.
Seriously Delta, can we cut back on all the promos where status is being handed out like Halloween candy?

May I be the first to request one of these mailers from someone who does not want to use it? (That is, assuming that the promo code isn't linked to the mail recipient's name).
This would be great for my girlfriend who normally travels on award tickets from my account, but we have to buy tickets occasionally.

Registration needs an RSVP code. Anyone want to share one to see if it works?
