Sorry, but your fare has gone down.
While I was booking for family of five SLC-SAN-LAX-SLC, RT was $206.
Got to the purchase button and was told, "SORRY your fare has gone DOWN $10 each", Do you want to continue? New fare was $196.
Hello, I was going to pay $206. Why would I not want to pay $196?
Needless to say and and hard as it was to continue I hit YES and saved $50.
Thanks Delta.
Has this ever happened to you while booking?
I know fares often go UP while booking, but I have not ever had them go down.

I like the apology!
Nope, mine always go UP. I guess that's why the programmed response to any change is "sorry"!

Its odd they didn't think to add a line of code to take out the "sorry" when the fare drops.

Same thing happened to me a year ago when I was about to pay $750 or so for SLC to Calgary. It dropped down to $625 or so (i recall the difference being $125).

Delta.com should take a lesson from Orbit. They both have the "sorry" message when fare increases, but Orbitz has a "Good news!" type message when it decreases.

There's a whole heck of a lot of code they should write before they get to this one.
