Buggy behavior on Skymiles website
Good morining all,
I thought I'd share a rather odd experience with the online award ticket system. I've been trying to get to 180K for a planned trip to LGW in the fall. Consequently, I've kept a pretty close eye on aware availability for the fall. Earlier this week, I found that the website would report no flights available on my selected dates and show me a depressing calendar with nearly every day marked as "n/a". :( I expected to get the last few miles today (via buymiles) and so I thought I'd check one more time. Well, much to my amazement, while calendar at the top showed no availability, the screen showed me a number of saver flights available and allowed me to reserve a couple of really good flights to and from LGW. They show up in my itinerary as well. :D To top it off, when I run the same search now, I come up with nothing. No availability on the calendar and no flights to choose from. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'm feeling pretty dang lucky, but I also won't wait a second to confirm and pay up when those last few miles hit! Andyandy |
I've had similar experiences and have repeatedly pointed them out to Delta. I typically use Firefox as my browser. Sometimes availability will be zip using Firefox and drastically different when I look using IE. Safari is similarly challenged. Sometimes it's just that Delta's inventory is screwed up. That's why it always pays to check early and often.
What really makes me mad is that Delta's agents, in an effort to get rid of me will just say that the inventory suddenly popped in just as I switched browsers. Being offshored to the Internet Help Desk has never gotten me anywhere. They see the problem and document it but nothing ever gets done about it. |
