What Does an Unavailable Seat Map Really Mean?
I booked DL from JFK to FLL on Dec. 25th; the seat map does not show any seats available for assignment but there are still discounted tickets available for sale. What gives? Is the flight oversold or is there another reason for the seatmap block?
Thanks

I imagine there's a pretty hefty oversell allowance on this route for this date.

The flight is oversold by 16 in y/c but is still selling 7 seats (which accounts
the seats you see for sale) but makes sense why you can't seats to assign.
F/C has 18 open.

My pet peev with the seat map is when it allows you to select seats for a code share flight but the selections really mean nothing. What's the point of making it an option during on-line reservation if the selections are not going to stick?

Hah. Yeah, kmk is one of the few FT'ers who REALLY has the inside info. Thanks for always sharing!

Christmas Day at JFK is going to be op up central I think. I'm doing FRA that night, and last I checked it was over by 20+ in coach, with another 10+ seats available for sale, but over 30 left up front.

I did a couple of years in PBI, and Christmas day the PBI-NYC flights were
ALWAYS packed! One of our busiest days when I used to work there.
I'm looking forward to having Christmas Day off this year with the kids!
(They are thrilled as well, having to wait for Mommy to get home
gets to be alittle tough on Dad)!
