That's a good point...better not to risk angering the TSA. I like your Y tickets idea. They can be refunded online, right? Better not to spend time on the phone on hold every day.

At what point along this journey do you think DL would give EP status (the famous white envelope)?

My guess it is dependent on fare classes, and since this will all be on LUT fares there will be no EP status given.

One thing we didn't take into account. Once we get PM we can book middle seats on all the legs for another 500 miles each leg.

Are those 500 miles actual Million Miler miles or just RDMs?

Anyway, the person actually doing the traveling might demand that upgrades be requested and accepted, especially after the first couple hundred segments in a Y cabin middle seat...

Why do that?

DTW-TOL on NW 3085 roundtrips.

How do you figure the extra 85 trips?

Now now, let's be realistic. DL doesn't operate a DTW-TOL flight.

Oh, I see...it's flight number NW 3085? That is actually PAH-MEM, which is still 155 miles flown. Maybe you meant CO 8035?

CVG-CMH is 115, I did that yesterday. Since you have to cross a state line, KY to OH, maybe you can make a little extra cash- buy some Kentucky Bourbon at the duty free shop in CVG, and sell it in CMH; you might even make a profit on each trip. (plus, you buy with your DL AMEX card, you'll get 30k extra MQM's this year).

How odd.

No, what you need to do is the following:

1) Get a Platinum DL AMEX. This gets you 15,000 MQMs on your first purchase.
2) Using the AMEX, spend $25,000. This gets you 10,000 MQMs.
3) Again, using the AMEX, spend another $25,000. This gets you 10,000 more MQMs.
4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 for 149.25 years.
Hmm, I only got 5000 MQM on my DL Plat Amex (first purchase). I assume 15k is for the Biz Plat DL Amex? If not, I'm complaining to someone and doing a real fast MR as I'll be around 40k with that, lol.

With the iDine promotion, 1000 MQMs for four $25 dines, that's only 12,000 meals at $25 each you need. If you do breakfast lunch and dinner each time, you'll have it in under 11 years!

But thats not such a problem with the interstellar flights. 700 pounds on Earth is just 116.2 on the moon and 46.9 on Pluto. Unfortunately, it becomes
1654.8 on Jupiter and 18950.4 on the Sun (if you don't burn up that fat on the way over there).
