Amex MQM 30000 this year

Because of the transition, theoretically or has anybody received 30000 MQM from Amex this year. If I recall, you get 10000 for the first $25000 and another for you reaching $50000, but if your expiration was somewhere within 2007, you could have doubled that second 10000 if you had 50000 in the calendar year as well as "card Year."
Did this indeed happen for anyone?
Thanks

Not exactly as you describe, but I have received 20,000 MQMs for $25,000 spending, via the mechanism you describe. I'm glad your post arrived when it did, because I evidently misunderstood the original mailing on the issue. I had thought I'd get 20,000 MQMs just for hitting $25,000 spending this year (i.e., 10,000 MQMs as normal and an additional 10,000 MQM bonus to help facilitate the changeover to the new calendar-year-based system). So I was beginning to wonder why I had received only 10,000 MQMs when I hit the $25,000 threshold. If your statement of the premise is correct, then I received exactly what was promised.

You get 10K miles right after you spend the first $25,000
You get 10K miles right after you spend the second $25,000
You get 10K miles right after your renewal anniversary.

My anniversary is also in November, and in reviewing my SM account, I can see that I was credited with the miles right after my November account closing date, so I expect the same will happen again this year.

I received my first 10,000 with my June statement when I spent $25,000. I received another 10,000 with my card anniversary date in Sept (ie the old bonus we used to get that is being phased out this year). I anticipate that I will hit the $50,000 limit at the end of the month and the last of my MQM's should post a few days after the statement date.

So I'd guess you'd get your next 10,000 at the end of Nov.

Yes, I got 10kmqm when I paid my renew fee early in the year and 10kmqm at the $25k and 10kmqm at the $50k spend. The $25k/$50k mqm happens at the end of the billing period + a few days.

I got 20,000 AMEX MQM so far, 10,000 for $25k during my usual renewal and 10,000 for the new $25k annual. In addition, I have received 25,000 bonus MQM with the SM GET BONUS award for flying. So I have received 45,000 MQM for pratically doing nothing. And as a result, I am only 4,000 MQM (which i will get this weekend) away from platinum.

so when you see me jumping ahead of you honest flyers for the first class seat upgrade, you may want to ask Delta why? But I don't care, I reap all the benefits!

But it seems to be working for Delta, as i result, I gladly will fly DL with one layover as opposed to the convenient non-stop if cost is the same for the upgrades.

I've gotten all three bonuses already too. Got 'em in January ($25k at renewal time), May (first $25k this year), October (second $25k this year). Thanks Amex!

As someone who had earned MQMs/EQMs only via BIS miles prior to last summer (got the DL Amex Plat), I can certainly understand the 'it's a frequent flyer program' sentiment that many have.

However, why DL awards MQMs for spend thresholds is no great mystery, it's $$$$. On a co-branded card like the DL Amex, DL gets money every time you use the card--Amex charges merchants transaction fees that involves a percentage of the transaction amount, and DL gets some portion of that fee.

Someone charging $10K on their DL Amex may actually be worth more to DL's bottom line that someone flying 10K miles on L/U/T fares.

Good to know....appreciate the thread. My wife got the initial 20k and certainly qualifies for the additional 10k...I was wondering when/if she should start hounding them for the last bonus.
