Configuration of "752"

I can't find 752 for Delta on Seatguru. Delta shows 7 rows of 2+2 in FC. Are any seats better than the rest and are any to be avoided?

It is on there under 757 Transcontinental

Label difference

OK thanks . My confusion was due to Seatguru labelling 1 - 6 what Delta labelled 2 - 7:) ^

These are the 757s that have been reconfigured with the PTVs. Any row in the middle has been fine with me; standard 757 width and recline in these seats.

I agree. skip the first and last rows. Since they load from 2L, I prefer to sit toward the back of the FC section. It makes geting off the plane a little quicker. I usually go for row 4, just in case there is a change of equipment, I have a seat that probably exists on the new plane.

Just flew one of them yesterday. The IFE system was great! The coat closet up front was gone so there was some carrying of stuff back and forth. The last row (7) definitely had less legroom than the others - avoid if you can.

Why does Seatguru show no 7C&D on the 757-Transcon when Delta's seat maps have those seats??

Where are you looking at Delta seat maps? The ones on Delta.com are certainly right (no 7C&D): http://www.delta.com/planning_reserv...scon/index.jsp

If you actually book a flight and click on VIEW SEATS, you will see that there IS a 7C&D, but no 1C&D

That's not an accurate seat map for the ex-Song 757s.

Seats 7c and 7d exist (I know this for certain as I've sat in 7D multiple times ;) ).....while 1c and 1d don't.

Seats 1a, 1b, 2c and 2d are the 4 bulkhead seats.....with 1a and 1b located where a closet was before the all-coach Song refit.

I am booked on a 757 flight with 5 rows (rows 1 through 5) of FC on the left and 6 rows (rows 1 through 6) of FC on the right. Is this an upgraded aircraft with PTV, or an int'l one, or what? I cannot find this configuration on DL.com or seatguru. Anybody know?

Chances are it's a "normal" non-transcon plane with 6-rows on both sides of F.

It is most likely not going to be a PTV AC. DL's seatmaps show 7 rows for those, but the 'transcon' (ex-Song) planes do sometimes get substituted onto routes they don't normally fly.

Because DL does have some of the int'l config 757s in the fleet without row 6, the seatmap for any non-transcon flight shows this configuration. In most cases, they're just holding 6 A/B back in case a plane without those seats is substituted onto the route, but in some cases that's what they're actually planning to fly.

Speaking of the 757 transcons, does anyone know when the installation of IFE on the transcons is going to be complete? I flew SFO-JFK (730am) last week, and it had the right seat configuration, but there were no seat back screens. The FAs made no announcement/comments, as if this was completely normal.

All transcon flights to/from JFK are supposed to be on 'IFE-equipped' aircraft.

This supposedly went into effect in November 2006.

Of course...it's always possible that a non-IFE equipped aircraft might have to be substituted at times.

When you say that 'it had the right seat configuration', what exactly do you mean?

Are you referring to the plane having 26 FC seats and/or seats 18D-E in coach?

Yes, "right confuration" means it had the 26 FC seats, etc. It had the same seat config as long as I had my ticket, so if there was an aircraft change, it would have had the same seat config. I didn't even know they had planes with the same seat config as the updated transcon, but without IFE. Also surprised that the 730am flight wouldn't have IFE, since this is the flight that connects to Int'l flight bank.
