Yesterday the elite lines were really long, so I decided to check out the regular lines. They were much shorter, and moved waaaaaaay faster.

The elite line only works if they have all five (I think it's five) screening areas open - but why should I stand in a super long line for two screening machines? "Special" line? You betcha.

It's always a gamble, but I'm going to check out the regular security lines before jumping in the Elite line in the future.
