New Meal Code " F "

I noticed in the September timetable the new meal code F in the abbreviations section as well as on select flights atl-lax as an example. F ='s food for sale
It looks like the food testing program is now a success and here for good.
I for one, am glad to see this food option as a choice especially if your in coach..also good if you want seconds...

I'd gladly pay for more food than I have received the last two weeks in F from CVG-SLC and CVG-PHX and the reverse routes.

Unfortunately this new code ALSO means no "real" food service in FC. On my FLL-ATL-LAS trip last week, both ways were during normal meal times (breakfast one way & lunch the other).

The back could purchase food the FC cabin just got it for free. This sounds nice, but what used to be a hot meal for breakfast was now just a muffin & fruit. The way home was two choices of sandwiches. It seems to me that DL will not offer anymore hot meal service if this works for them.

I will give the DL flight attendance one big "kudo" in that they took one of the cheesecakes catered on the plane for sale and put it on a cart and travelled up/down the FC aisle slicing it off for the pax that wanted it... It was reminiscant to hand made sundaes of the past. I think the FA's really enjoyed providing this service. They were VERY pleasant in offering and serving this dessert.

ATL-LAS and ATL-LAX (both directions) have been the test flights for the food for sale program.

For lunch, the turkey sandwich "basket" (including chips, big cookie and a few grapes) was pretty good and very filling. But would it hurt to offer a hot meal in F?

According to the flight attendant I spoke with on the flight, food for sale has been generally well received EXCEPT for the lack of a hot meal in F for breakfast.

They should also consider a fresh fruit selection (better than just the grapes).
