COMAIR crash at LEX

47 reported onboard. First word is that they crashed into the wooded area near the training center on the west side of the property.

Versailles Road (US 60) is closed and the media is not allowed onsite.

Nothing more to report at this time.

The Today Show is reporting at least 50 have perished. No reports on whether anyone survived. Very sad.

I just heard on NBC, over 50 fatalities. I pray they are wrong though.

Prayers and thoughts are with those who didn't make it.

191 is not a good flight number for the DL family...wasn't it also the DL 191 (L10) that went down in DFW quite a few years back?

Apparently there was a fire on board. It was a CRJ-600. It was DL flight 5191. Crashed at 6:06AM EST. Very much a tragedy. A very sad day. I hope no one from our board was on this flight.

They removed it from the flight status listing. If you seach by schedule it's still listed. Scheduled departure was 6:00 a.m. and scheduled arrival was 7:18 a.m.

Yes, and AA also lost a flight 191 (DC-10 at ORD in 1979).

I don't even want to think about that possibility.

I grew up flying DL as a child (my mother retired after 35+ yearsat DL) and hope that they reports of multiple fatalities are wrong. As annonymous as this community might be at times, we are all connected. This is a horrible accident and we can only hope that those that died went quickly.
