VCE-BOM J class ?
 

We will be flying VCE-BOM J class in August
RT fare $1200 Is that good?

CDG-BOM-CDG is an AF A340 only on certain days of the week and DL 767 on others. I'm picking AF over DL. Any Skymiles promos or fare classes I should be aware of?

Any seat recommendations? (Row 2 is available). Lounges in CDG and BOM?

Would you rather have better food and wine or better seats.

Personally, I find the DL seats to be much more comfortable. I think the AF seats are wider but I believe DL has more pitch and recline. The DL seats are fine width-wise for me but I'm only like 5'9" and 140lbs.

Last fall, I had flown JFK-CDG in AF, J class and then CDG-BOM in DL, J class. DL was using MD11 at the time. I agree the food (esp. wine) is better in AF but there is much more leg room on DL. I also thought the seats were more comfortable on DL. I would select DL all the way if I had to choose again.

I'm confused. VCE-BOM or CDG-BOM?

you're right. Not as concerned about VCE-CDG on Alitalia since it's only a 2 hr flight.

Seat recline and pitch are important to us. From what I hear DL MD11 seats are great not the 767.

Also are there any Skymiles promos I should sign up for?

vickh, where did you find this great fare? Is it a consolidator fare?

I could be mistaken but I think that the recline and pitch are the same on all BE aircraft. Apparently the width is different though.

You are correct. The width is materially better on MD11s and 777s when compared to 767s.

Having flown both AF long haul biz and BE, I find Delta BE infinitely preferable because of the pitch/recline. On an 8 hour flight, IMHO, seat comfort eclipses all other issues in flight selection.

You must not have compared DL 767-300 J class to AF J class. Seat comfort is precisely the issue. The DL 767-300 J class seat is a joke! Almost as narrow as Y class (2-2-2 as compared to Y's 2-3-2). AF has plenty of legroom -- though DL has a little more -- but AF has nice wide seats too!

I prefer recline to seat width. Just my opinion.
