Executive Partner

A business associate who I know received an Executive Partner package in the last few weeks. I did a search on it, but the details of it were sketchy in the posts that I found. EPs are selected by National Account Manangers for the top corporations that give the most business to Delta. Realistically, they send a form to the Chairman (or most likely his/her assistant) and they choose if they will take the membership or if they will offer it to others. The form states how many memberships the company is permitted. At the company of my friend, the people that have unrestricted personal jet access chose not to take the membership since they would never use it, so they passed it down (Usually to EVPs, Division Presidents, CFOs). EP is pretty much comped Platinum. I think that there are around 250 members. The package includes the PM Card, except under the name and number it says "Executive Partner". The written benefits are identical to PM although agents may be more lenient about rules. This person just received his card so he hasn't had a chance to use it or try to get an exception. The only difference is that 10,000 miles are donated to the SkyWish foundation in the name of the member. The Package included 6 PMUs, 6 Drink Coupons, the card, 2 PM baggage tags, 2 Green PM Priority tags, and four of those cheap luggage ties. I don't know what the manifest shows but the BPs show "Executive Partner / Crown Room" although the statements show "Platinum Medallion" in the status box. On-line, when you go to the Skymiles statement page it says
Executive Partner
Crown Room Club (R)

but in the corner when you go to a new page it says "Platinum Medallion". If you have any other questions, I'll ask.

The big question is: How lenient? Is it possible that EPs are not subject to SGB? Thanks

An EP gets ANYTHING they want from Delta. SGB is not applicable.

What is SGB?
(Excuse my ignorance)

ANYTHING??? Unlimited free F or BE tickets? Even on flights that are sold out? With ten minutes notice?

I assume that there have to be some limits. Any idea what they are? Thanks

I'm curious if there is perhaps yet another level above EP or concurrent with EP for celebrities. In a previous thread (it is very old, maybe even out of the archives) there was talk of a yellow "VIP" baggage tag that a well known personality had attached to their bag. Is this the Chairman's VIP level that was discussed or is Chairman's VIP an internal or manifest term for Executive Partners.

Any idea what ballpark that figure might be in?

But I don't care what it says on their BP, they're still not going to get a lime with their gin from an AF drink cart http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Interesting stuff.

Take away the word "free" and you have your answer. EPs will be upgraded on virtually any fare on virtually every route. If an EP wanted to buy a coach ticket for an oversold flight leaving in 10 minutes, he would get his seat on the plane, most likely in the premium cabin, and Delta would bump a peon to accomodate him. EP is as close to God as a human can attain when flying Delta.

I believe they still offer personalized service (meaning escorting the EP through the airport if the EP wishes to make use of this service)...

This particular company spends $125 Million on all travel needs (Air, Hotel, Car). I think that their total Air spend is between $40 Million and $60 Million, with Delta being their secondary carrier to American.

I saw this happen at JFK 2 yrs ago - last time B/E checkin was "in front." DL had an agent meet this individual (very well dressed) at his car. The agent took him to the front of the B/E security line - and had his BP already printed.
