Procedure for price drop (int'l)?

My boss recently paid $1,400 (approx) each for three tix ATL-Rome. The same tickets are currently pricing out at $922 apiece. What should he do to get a refund/voucher for the difference? (In particular, would the CHA ticket counter--run by people unusually competent for ASA employees --be a better place to handle it than the 800#?)

I had a similar thing happen with my husband's and my flights to Hawaii. We called the 800# and they took care of it with no problem and put a credit on our accounts that we used later for other flight plans.
