Question on Seating Charts
Ok Stupid question time!!
In lookig at the seating charts on Delta.com some random seats are in orange listed as "available preferred", They do not seem to be in any pattern, so what is their importance over the blue available seats? Just wondering what they mean? Thanks! Judy J |
They usually represent two rows in the first ones, the second and the third in a lot of planes. The random aspect is probably du to the fact that the flight is heavily booked.
It is still probably not so random, as theses seats are not located anywhere in your plane on the screen. |
Orange seats can be selected by medallion members. They are generally the more preferred coach seats.
The number of orange seats varies hugely depending on the route, type of equipment, time of day, etc. I suppose it is a matter of how heavily the route is travelled by medallions. Even before any seats are selected, you can find 763s with only 7 seats in orange, while there are M80s with 70 seats in orange. |
The preferred seats are the first X number of rows of coach, plus selected exit seats. On some planes, like 757s, all exit row seats are usually orange. On MD88s, row 25 is preferred and 24 is not. I'm not sure how the all different 767 configurations work out, but I do know that rows 25-27 (including the coveted 27A&G) on the domestic -300s are preferred.
