Seat Availability by Fare Class

Hey Guys (and gals) --

I was wondering if there is any tool available to see what seats are available by fare class, and if it is avail to the general public?

Tks,

ExpertFlyer.

Expert flyer charges a monthly fee. Flyaow shows class availability for free (http://flyaow.com/classcwt.htm). Upgrade inventory on DL is not shown :( .

That's why I willingly pay the $10/month for expertflyer...the ability to see availability of hidden fare classes not only for DL but also for AA and some others is a huge benefit...

They may charge a fee, but it just paid for itself tonight. Journey Control had failed to clear my first upgrade and when I checked there was two seats in the V class. Thanks guys.......

The poor man does this by booking "dummy" flights and seeing if the upgrade shows as available. :)

Actually....Journey Control hasn't totally eliminated this method of checking Delta.com to see if upgrade seats are available. :)

While it does affect the displayed availability during "search by schedule" if one searches using "married segments" instead of individually.......once an itinerary is priced, Delta.com still shows actual upgrade availability on a "per segment basis".

This is one way that I knew that V class was available despite neither of my upgrades being cleared........until I called. ;)

Ok. Help. I'm dumb. I can't figure out how to use expert flyer to check for upgrade inventory on DL flights. Let's say I'm trying to upgrade on 4/9/06 on DL 1475. How would I check it to see if I can get the upgrade?

Are you subscribed to their Premium service? If so, enter the starting and ending airports (BWI and CVG???)--the date, the approximate time of the flight (making it a little earlier than the scheduled departure time--not later), dl for Delta and V class. Doing that, you'll see how many seats are available for upgrade. If it says V9, that means there are at least 9 seats available for upgrade, although there could be more (9 is the most they will show). V5 would mean five, etc. If the flight doesn't show that means none are available, although that doesn't mean you won't eventually get upgraded at the gate anyway. I think this info is basically right, although I'm somewhat new to expertflyer myself, so if someone wants to add something to this or correct me, chime in.

Ok, now I figured it out. I can't enter BWI - TRI because CVG - TRI is not upgradeable. I have to enter just the BWI - CVG portion.

Good job gvandora. You get to go to the head of the class, which in this case looks like the front of the plane from BWI to CVG. :D

What fare class does DL use for Caribbean U/G? I'm on DL 207 JFK-SDQ, and just joined EF. I don't see any X bucket (flight only has J, no F section) or V.

Because JFK-SDQ is international, and the premium cabin is Business Class, upgrade inventory is Z class.
