Can I use SMU's to SJD?
I am planning the following trip, ATL-SJD (San Jose Del Cabo, MX) and am curious if SMU's are accepted on flights to Mexico. When I enter the search for 800 mile segment upgrade fares on the DL website, it provides me with the same K fare that I would receive for picking restricted coach fares. Does anyone have experience with this segment upgrade issue?

Yes, you can use segment upgrades for flights to Mexico.
The reason for same K fare coming up on both "coach(restricted)" and "800-mile segment upgrade fares" is either a)they don't have published fare on L or U (non-upgradable) class on that route, or b) LUser fare for the particlular flights you have selected had been all taken.
