question
Hey guys, I hate to ask a dumb question, but what is a "Flying Colnel"? (sp?) I'm going on my 3rd year of being a PM, and I was just curious what this status got you, what it took to get there, etc. etc.
Thanks! Jeff http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cool.gif |
The program was basically ended a few years ago. Those that had it still have the status reflected in the Skymiles Account.
It was given to customers that were considered by Delta to be their best. The biggest benefit was free lifetime membership in the Crown Room. With the advent of Simply Good Business, and because all of the loyal FC's out there requested it, Delta eliminated the Crown Room benefit. In the last two years I have had one Delta agent comment about it by saying. "Oh, you have been a loyal Delta customer for years." When I asked what made her say that she said. "Because you are a FC and we don't do that anymore. TW |
Flying Colonel status was given to major revenue producers. Usually, this is people that controlled large travel budgets, or execs at companies that did a lot of travel with DL...

Please don't think I'm being impolite, mspman, as this is certainly not a "dumb question."
But if you're interested in the topic, I know there was a thread or maybe threads that discussed this and they were full of very interesting info. Please do a search on "flying colonel" and I think you'll enjoy reading what others had to say about this. If I get time later today, I'll be happy to do one and post the addresses. I'm NOT blowing you off by saying "Do A Search." |
I second the earlier comment; it's a useful search engine. There are so many contributing members out here with sage advice who are more than happy to provide guidance and answer questions. Let me just add that a more descriptive topic title would be helpful. Just imagine if everyone used "question" as the subject line.

I second the comment about making sure the subject line is VERY DESCRIPTIVE. Sure helps everyone decide what to read, etc. Reminds me of my Mother. Every email she sends me has as a subject >> Mom. No kidding! |
Sorry. I tried the search function for over half an hour. Nothing but the following message:
"The server returned an invalid or unrecognized response." Maybe I'll be more successful later; but try it yourself if you have a chance. It really does work, usually. Best wishes! |
