Cabin Luggage Allowance on Partner Airlines
 

I am DL Platinum, but travel frequently on Air France and I have been bothered by the following problem:
While Delta has a policy of 18kg maximum allowance for carry-ons, Air France has a 12Kg policy, which they seem to strictly enforce, especially on flights out of CDG. This can be an important difference for those who try to travel light so as to avoid checked (and lost/delayed) bags.
Any ideas on how to circumvent this limit on AF? Does AF have to honor the DL allowances if traveling on a ticket issued as DELTA on a code-shared AF flight?

It's up to the operating carrier for the rules. Even if it's a DL coded ticket you are subject to the AF contract of carriage and rules since you are flying AF not DL.

Alitlia is similar in that their carry-on limit is much smaller than Delta's is. That being said, I flew ATL-MXP-ATH a few weeks ago withthe MXP-ATH portion being on Alitalia. Our carry-ons were fine by Delta standards, but I know they were all over by Alitalia standards. Alitalia did not weigh anything, and could have cared less from what I saw. Seeing that we were also on a full flight from MXP-ATH, I was surprised that they did not care.

Unless AF will weigh all carry-ons at the gate I doubt you would have any issue. Now if you are checking in at CDG, I do not know how that might work.
