You need to pay for 22,000 miles to get 25,000 miles. Since the purchase limit is 15,000 miles, you need to do this in 2 transaction: one for yourself, and have a "friend" buy miles for you: (((11,000 miles x 0.0275) x 1.075) + $25) x 2 = $700.38 http://www.delta.com/skymiles/purchase/index.jsp |

25000 miles per coach award/1150 miles per lot of miles purchased= 21.739 purchases needed to get the award X $55 per purchase= $1195.65.
I'll stick with my numbers. I don't know where you got the .0275 and the 1.075 from. |
Skymiles do not cost $55 per thousand. "Miles may be purchased for $0.0275 USD per mile (minimum 1,000 miles) plus a 7.5% Federal Excise Tax and a $25 USD processing fee." The $55 amount used in the original message includes the $25 processing fee, which is assessed once per transaction.

dennis Even with the 15% bonus, I still don't consider this 2B a good deal--unless one is a few K short of an award, esp. trans-oceanic J :) ! |
