Sorry, I should have realized that anything I posted would be taken out of context and misunderstood. I had only been trying to post a postive experience I'd had, as some people are "doubtful" that these exist at CDG.

By the way, saying that you are proud of an ability is not "crowing" as far as I'm concerned. I think it's quite healthy to be proud of one's abilities. Of course, I could be wrong (as I often appear to be).

Next time, I'll just not post anything, as it doesn't appear to be appreciated or understood by this audience. And quite frankly, it isn't worth the time and effort.

What was really objected to was that the original post was taken in the exact same context it was written. As I said in my first reply, I was glad you had a positive experience. But the conclusions you reached thereby were illogical.

The use of the word "crow" was deliberate as it has depth of meaning. Here is the dictionary.com definition:

crow
intr.v. crowed, crow·ing, crows
1. To utter the shrill cry characteristic of a cock or rooster.
2. To exult loudly, as over another's defeat; boast. See Synonyms at boast1.
3. To make a sound expressive of pleasure or well-being, characteristic of an infant.

It was particularly chosen because the rooster has long been the animal mascot of France. I wrongly assumed a francophile such as yourself would know that.

This is truly devastating. It will be difficult to continue to travel internationally without original and unique insights such as "it helps to know the local language" and "having a positive attitude is helpful." Somehow I'll just have to soldier on. It's too bad all three definitions of crow seem to be relevant.
