Red face

I know the REAL reason why Delta interiors are so filthy... it's those damn filthy flight attendants posing on the seatbacks!!!

However, remember when DL used to offer caviar in transatlantic F? I really miss those days. Nothing better than caviar and an iced vodka chaser. Yummy.

Oops. Did I stray off topic?

Off topic too... I just watched 2 episodes of Airline today. I'm waiting to see if Cholula ever makes it on the show.

My first DL International flight was in the mid-80's on a FC award ticket to ATH. There were only two of us in FC and the other dude wasn't interested in beluga caviar. So guess who ate the whole tin and washed it down with a quantity of frozen Stoli??

Interesting.
By my calculations I've therefore lost somewhere around 90 pounds of skin.
So why don't I resemble Lance Armstrong??

I remember the days of First Class and caviar, too, Cholula!
Guess who ate the other tin of caviar on that flight (the tin you never saw)?

Would you believe there is a reference to this in the January edition of Sky Magazine?

I guess it's all perspective. After riding on Metro North (a NY Commuter Railroad) you will think the Delta cabins are hospital clean!

I suspect this thread is losing sight of the question I'd hoped to address, which is the managerial and labor issues at DL that affect aircraft cleanliness. Or to ask the question another way, what does an airline that prides itself on clean interiors (such as CO--they even boast of clean planes in their advertising!) do differently in this regard that DL doesn't? And how can CO manage to spend the money on clean interiors when DL can't? Is decent grooming that expensive?

I didn't get to read the article today. I started reading the magazine on my first flight and decided to finish it on my connecting flight. My connecting flight still had the December edition onboard.

My connecting flight had 2 open 1st class seats today (I've never seen this before!). DL did such a nice thing. They moved a blind lady and a serviceman up to 1st right after the door closed. ^ And before anyone says that DL took seats away from a SM member, that isn't true since the monitor at the gate showed 3 open 1st class seats with only 1 person waitlisted.

This is the old DL I used to enjoy travelling with. Question is, was this a FA being a bit overzelous to please or are there new DL rules that allow after door uprgrades by FAs?
