All DL 764's have emPower branded 110v outlets only in Business and the first 10 rows of Y. All emPower outlets requiring an adapter are now gone.

Bumping up this thread as there have been recent questions regarding IFE.

747-400 ife

I'm booking a trip to SGN in October and have the choice of a 747-400 out of ATL or a 777-200 out of JFK for the leg to NRT.

Seatguru is saying the Delta 747-400 now has personal seatback TV in Y. Can anyone confirm this, preferably from personal experience?

JFK on the 777 is more expensive and yields fewer miles, but it would be worth the extra cost for personal IFE on a 14h daytime flight.

I'm almost positive that the 747s do not have AVOD in Y. I'd go with the 777 as I prefer it to the 747 in Y.

No AVOD in Y on 744's. DL has a bid out for portable IFE players for the 744's but that's months away, if it even happens.

So what I'm getting out of this thread that Delta has no power in coach on really any domestic-configured plan. Is this correct?

Also, I flew on a NW 753 the other day and they did show a movie from MSP-SEA.

Unless you're lucky enough to catch an A330, 757 International, 767-400 or 777 domestically, then there is no in-seat power in coach on domestic flights.

Even int'l (TATL) on a 330 is not a guarantee. I just got in from AMS to DTW in 16G on a 330-200. Yes, there was a power port, but no power.

One of the issues that I've read about with the A330 powerports is that if a lot of the AVOD screens are in use, it draws power away from the powerports, making them inop. Bit of a hassle if you were planning on using your laptop on a TATL flight only to discover it doesn't work. I had this happen to me earlier this summer.

BTW, great job with the list ^^
any word if this config has been put into use (w/ new biz calss seats) on the PDX-NRT route, yet?

Power in coach on 73H?

It appears that the 73H planes only have 110V power in First, not in coach. From my perusing through Delta, it looks like coach has USB chargers only. There is a note on SeatGuru that the planes might have 110V power in the first 10 rows of coach as Delta is adding this. Can anyone tell me if that is true? Wife is flying and trying to decide if she can watch a DVD without her battery dying. If not, sure seems like she'll have a lot of choices on the AVOD.

Thanks.

Flying DTW-NRT upstairs on the 747-400 next month, does the IFE have the HBO On Demand. Also how reliable is the In-Seat power, I plan on playing games and watching DVD's on my laptop.

It does have AVOD. I do not know if it's branded as HBO or not.

Power 75W max. It's as reliable as any AC in-seat power installed in the mid 2000's. Which is to say it's not. Keep the battery out and cross your fingers. I personally like Empower DC on CO, but that's with Mac.

Can anyone who has flown an updated 767-400 international tell me if power extends all the way back in Coach or if it's still the first 10 rows of Y?

I'll be taking DL LHR-JFK which is the updated 764 w/ lie-flat seats up front but I'm not sure if I should take row 16 (second coach row) for in-seat power or take the exit row 30? I'd definitely prefer row 30 but for that long of a flight power might trump the extra leg room.

Thanks,
RM

My Fiance reported row 33 on a LHR 764 did not have power after her flight tuesday. For that reason + shorter immigration lines I'm taking row 17 in three weeks.
