My (LoganFlyer's) guide to maximizing your bump chances on Delta:

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/30484249-post1713.html

(The concise version:

1. Use the App to see if more people are looking for seats than there are seats available. As part of the Customer Commitment, gate agents, phone res agents, and tickets agents must tell you if a flight is overbooked if you ask. (They don't need to say by how many seats.)
2. Do everything you can to get on the volunteer list through OLCI or a kiosk at the airport, since some GAs use that list.
3. Talk to the GA as soon as the gate opens up--don't wait for them to make an announcement.
4. Don't be afraid to negotiate with the GA.)

Correct. I am very careful (look at my profile). Guess which station it was at.

There's a big bump voucher valuation thread - if the OP cares to respect the organization of the forum.

By this rationale, the forum would have less than 10 threads. What fun would that be?

ATL-MCI today. $600 VDB for a later flight (+-6 hours later). Actually I was confirmed on a flight 6 hours later but with standby I made it on the flight 4 hours later.

I flew PHX-ATL yesterday (Sunday). They were offering $1,300, food vouchers, and a hotel to fly out the next day. One guy bargained the gate agent up to $1,500.

I'm surprised there aren't many reports here from yesterday. Nearly every route I checked on any airline had one or none seats available for sale. I've never seen such an oversell situation across the entire network. I guess it was spring breakers?
