Added Segment

Saw this on a TPG article somewhere so tried it out. Had a ticket MSP-SFO-TPE in first/biz and 3 months later decided I wanted to get to MNL on the same ticket. I called in and they added it on in business as an “even exchange!” no extra taxes or anything. I was pretty happy.

One weird note is the domestic segment shows as First (OO) and my companions show First (OZ). I thought it was weird as first is usually R..

O/R are same thing just for different flights. Although DL announced they'll be changing from R to O I the future for all.

Just booked positioning flights for a December trip to JFK-TPE-LAX on MU (about $2500 in business class, will get my MQDs for the year for Diamond).
DCA-JFK,12/9 - 6,000 miles and $5.60 in coach, immediately upgraded to C+.
LAX-DCA, 12/18 (ATL redeye - 330 that day) - 16,000 miles and $5.60 in coach, immediately upgraded to C+.
Although I may burn some orphan AA miles -- FC is available for 25,000 miles LAX-DCA, the cheapest FC I found on DL was 84,000 miles. But I also looked to burn AA miles DCA-JFK and there was only 1 nonstop for 7,500 miles. Everything else was a connection through BOS.

Booked ORD-DTW-ORD for 16k for my Detroit Auto Show trip in January. Pretty meh redemption, but the flights are well timed and mainline compared to AA and UA on regionals.

It used to be 75k. I'm guessing they changed it. Also, have they removed the availability to book a VS flight via miles from the website?

Wow 172k round trip for a TATL?

Is that Upper Class a F or a J product?

It's not a horrible redemption with SkyMiles in my opinion. UA is 60k for UA metal and 70k for partners. What would you consider the best use of Delta miles?

57.5 on UA or 115k round trip.

That 172k round trip for a DL TATL redemption is about 50% higher.

Anyways, I'm the wrong person to ask about DL miles since I don't accumulate DL miles any more. I've taken advantage of some Amex bonuses in the past few years and that's about it.

My sister has gotten some decent transcon redemptions in Y so not too bad for that.
