My wife and I decided on a Med cruise out of BCN next June. Started checking and calling late July... all the city pairs that were suggested by Vinnman (was a great help), then around four weeks ago Ind to DUS became available on several dates in June. I booked (held) the dates in B/E at 90K each and called Delta about connecting to BCN with AF (also all Bus.). My routing is: Ind-ATL-DUS-CDG-BCN with return BCN-CDG-DUS-ATL-IND.

On the return we took a 27 hour stopover in Paris as my wife wants to see the Louvre. We get to DUS at 4:50 PM , ( plan to spend the evening in the Altstadt) leaving on Delta 25 the next morning at 9:40 (not a stopover since that was the first available TATL connection). Not the best connection, but I was determined to use my miles as it continues to get more difficult getting Skysaver award seats.

About a month ago, we booked 2 Skysaver awards PHX -ATL- HHH for a weekend in early November.
I was pleasantly surprised to see availability for a Sunday return.

Why 95k miles instead of 90k miles?

CO charges 50,000 miles for its' and VS' product above economy class, i.e., CO's BusinessFirst, and VS' Upper Class, respectively.

Been a while since anyone's posted here. I hope that's not an indication that folks have not been successful lately.

I booked 3 coach skysaver award seats to day for mid-June, 2008 ATL-EZE.

I realize it's winter, but ATL-EZE is wide open for June. I had my pick of just about any dates I could want.

This pretty much consumed the last of my skymiles. Now that I have a job on the ground, it will take decades to accumulate a free trip. Oh well, going out in style!

I was able to book two saver awards TUS-FLL for the end of January. Had a choice of Coach to Florida and First Back for 35Kpp or 45Kpp for First both ways. Simple choice since I really haven't flown DL for about 5 years, (and haven't been thru ATL iSince the 80's)

Just booked from iah to ewr December 20th through January 3 for my nephew. Got the CO nonstops-no problem. Did get hit with the rapid redemption but still cheaper than anything else I could find.

Well, if I'd wanted to go to Buenos Aires tomorrow and return in about a week, business class, there were seats available.
Alas I cannot get the time.

The facts:

1. FOUR SkySaver Y seats to Europe (to LGW and from CDG)
2. Travel in May 2008 (not exactly off-peak)
3. Booked only 6 months out
4. Took ONE phone call to DL
5. Got my first choice of dates
6. Got my first choice of flights on those dates
7. Originating in three different cities and all connecting in ATL for the same TATL flights

I'm a happy camper. ^

PS - Scored the exit row for all of us on one TATL leg.

Thumbs up Another JavaJunkie success

Not what many would term a "world class" destination, but:

Got 4 SkySaver SDF-ATL-MCO-SDF for the second week in Jan '08 with only 3 weeks advance. :-:

Works for me!

[edited to add: BTW - did it all online with the calendar feature ^ ]

Was hoping to go to Spain May 30-June 8.....nothing in coach across the Atlantic on any Skyteam carrier to Spain or European hub city in early June!!!....even tried from Cancun and Mexico City on AM!

Changed plans to Buenos Aires but exact dates not what we wanted.

So instead got SAN-LIM for those dates.....we will be hiking the Inca trail rather than sipping Sangrias in Madrid...

2 coach seats for 70,000 miles + $70 in taxes/fees.

Last edited by lls138; Dec 17, 2007 at 5:49 pm Reason: That is, no SkySavers to Spain
