3 tickets in C/F for 100k miles + 150$ taxes (Aug - Sep 13).

PRG-BRU-JFK stopover JFK-SLC-ANC destination ANC-SEA-AMS-PRG.

One ticket has ANC-SEA in Y but no such big issue.

Nice one! I also booked a ski trip from MCO (to SLC) the coming February for 25k (x2) when the flights were booking at over $500, so while not nearly as "exotic" as some other redemptions, still a nice use of miles (IMHO).

AEP(AR)-GRU(G3)-NVT(G3)-GRU
20k + $88 (Itemized: 10.00 QO 2.50 TQ 33.15 XR 17.57 BR + 25.00 delta fee)

I was prepared with all flights beforehand (thanks expertflyer.com)... 10 min on phone, no problem (though she hadn't heard of AEP).

7/16/13- ZRH > JFK > IND

Used a $200 voucher on a rev ticket to partner on the same legs= $1730 in BE

A deal too good to pass up.

Excellent domestic redemption with a great use of open-jaw and stopover! Being DTW-based I may consider a similar itinerary.

It took about 1.5 hours on the phone with a very nice Gold line representative. She asked me for the possible date range that would work, and then had to "go into CZ's system, to see if the seats were actually unavailable", whatever that means.
Long sell. That's what is needed to get CZ award.

AS: OGG-SAN in first

I needed to get my mother-in-law here from Hawaii in March-April.

Using KVS, I found and then was able to book this:

OGG-SAN roundtrip in first class on Alaska Airlines.

Cost 75k Skymiles + $5

(This is, in fact, "low". Hawaii awards cost more. This trip would have been only 50k Skymiles within US and Canada.)

The weird thing is that there was no availability in coach. I think for this reason, '"search by price" on Delta.com does not find it in any class. However, I picked the flights by "search by schedule" because KVS already told me which ones worked. Delta's award search sucks so bad!

Booked trip for two using CZ availability in Business.

6/22 - LAX-CAN (on A380 product)
6/24 - CAN-BKK

7/6 - SIN-CAN
7/6 - CAN-LAX (again on A380)

120,000 Skypesos + a moderately offensive $375 taxes/fees each

Was (of course) unable to find any low availability for myself from either DAY, CVG, or LEX to LAX. None for SO either from BDL, JFK, LGA, EWR or PVD... So will have to either pay for that ticket or use another airline to get out to LAX.

Have an option to fly KE back, but based upon what I can tell, their 777-200ER business class is an inferior hard product compared to the new China Southern A380 (angled lie flat vs flat) Anyone confirm that?

Also, I've been told that I'm unable to select a seat on the A380 flights on China Southern to and from LAX. Delta won't load any seat maps, and DL SM agent was unable to give me anything like a confirmation number for CZ.

While there, I'm planning on picking up some flights (presumably on a regional LCC) from BKK-USM-HKT-SIN. Looks like I can find something around $300 with directs between them all. Any other options for patching this into the redemption?

Thanks all!

LEX-LAX has seats via DTW (low economy) available on 22 June.

Which KE flight? If you have ExpertFlyer, look at what they're selling for revenue seats on the flight. If it shows J class, it's flat beds in 2-3-2 arrangement on the 772. If it shows C class, it's angled flat (2-3-2). The flat seats are great, but the angled not so much.

I'd call CZ and ask them for your record locator with your ticket number, flight, name, etc. I don't know if they can assign a seat for you, but I know you won't get it through DL and getting a partner PNR from a DL agent is such a crap shoot that I generally won't even try any more.

If you call the cz offices here in the USA they will assign you seats for all the cz flights. I have the 2 row 24 seats together over and back on the a 380. They just ask for your last name and flight date/number. 1888 338 8988.

This was incredibly helpful. Booked into rows 24 and 25. Thanks!
