ATL-CDG Coach on AF 747 May 30

CDG-FRA-ATL Business AF A320 and DL 767-400ER June 5

80000 each for two tickets

placed on hold 7/9/10 (first date return bookable), got it extended three days on 7/11 and ticketed today

$130 each taxes

Hope the new seats(Thompson?) in business are installed on the 764 by June.

Noticed a lot of coach availability on the on the AF681/682 for many dates around mine. Business nothing for CDG but many cities in Germany seemed to have seats on DL metal.

All done online (except the call to SMS to extend hold).

I booked 4 GRR-PLS roundtrips during a holiday using 50K miles. The fare would have been $920 per ticket.

Over the last couple days I was able to book 2 business (@ 120K each) and 1 coach (@ 80K) award from IAH to DEL for travel in November/December, and it was all done on delta.com! Not a single low level award was available on Continental between 9/1 and 12/31.

PHX-ATL-PHX, medium coach going, low first on the return; for my sister at 42,500 miles. Given no flexibility in travel dates, zero willingness to connect, and strong preferences in flight timing, I'm happy with this.

DTW-AMS, business, 100K

DTW-EWR (coach), EWR-AMS Business Saturday July 10th

AMS-DTW business Tuesday July 13th

Last minute booking and only $59.70 taxes per ticket

1) Better availability as Gold (me) than as non-status (spouse).
2) Tuesday return instead of Monday lowered the mileage amounts for Saturday departure. Not sure if this has implications for the typical 'string together one way routings' strategy

Could have been bumped off the EWR leg and done direct departure, but we had checked a bag. We even saw our bags as they were being loaded so they could have been physically pulled off. But the FA told us the computer system cant deal with that.

Just booked OAK-SEA-SFO for next weekend for two of us at 25k+$5 each.

Generally, I wouldn't be able to justify calling this a success, but I did get the exact dates/times that I wanted and am looking at roughly a 1.4 cpm redemption rate (these tickets are $356 each if purchased directly from AS, and more if purchased from DL).

That and I wasn't really finding anything else to spend them on...

Very nice! My next redemption will probably be something very similar to this. I have lots of friends to visit in France and I kind of want to do Mauritius, Reunion, Madagascar and South Africa in one run.
